What We Do

​​The CPSC helps members increase their profitability by delivering programs that create efficiencies in the transportation and marketing of pulses and special crops, and enhance the value of members’ products and services by developing new market opportunities.

The CPSC:

  • Advocates on behalf of the industry to resolve market access, transportation and crop protection issues.
  • Provides funding and strategic direction to Pulse Canada, the national pulse industry association that represents growers, processors and traders of pulse crops in Canada
  • Advocates on behalf of the industry to address food regulation issues.
  • Provides technical support to members from Pulse Canada staff with expertise in pulse quality, processing, nutrition, health, sustainability and food regulations
  • Offers a comprehensive set of Trade and Arbitration Rules used to facilitate the trading of pulses and special crops in Canada.
  • Hosts the largest pulse and special crops event in North America, the Pulse and Special Crops Convention

Mission

The CPSC works to enhance the profitability of its members and partners by increasing efficiencies and enhancing the value of the products and services they offer.

Vision

The CPSC and its partners will be renowned for consistently and reliably delivering innovative, healthy, sustainable and functional food products to meet growing demand around the world.

Strategy

The CPSC works to achieve its mission by delivering programs that:

  1. Reduce costs associated with the transportation and marketing of pulses and special crops, and
  2. Enhance the value of members’ products and services through the development of new market opportunities for pulses and special crops.

The CPSC also provides funding and strategic direction to Pulse Canada, the national pulse industry association that represents growers, processors and traders of pulse crops in Canada.
