Dear CSCA members,
Turkey’s Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry/General Directorate of Food and Control has notified the WTO of Turkish Food Codex Regulations on Food Labelling and Information to Customers (attached). According to the attached document, this regulation sets out general principles, needs and responsibilities governing food information to consumers and in particular food labelling.
Pulse Canada will work to identify the impact these regulations may have, if any, on current Canada/Turkey trade. Attached is the original draft regulations in Turkish. Pulse Canada has requested an English and French translation from the Government of Canada and will provide this translated document to CSCA members when received.
